Would you prefer a party to remember or to forget someone?
After Yaya’s unexpected death, Ángela decides to face her pain by changing the logic of the world; organizing her absent grandmother’s birthday party. This event confronts her with another conflict that she’s been denying. Not only has she lost her grandmother, but she also feels motherless. Her friend Cami, who sometimes seems to be herself or all the women in the world, accompanies her and shows that the party hides questions that she must be willing to face.

Lola vera
The company La Resistencia invites choreographer and dancer Lola Vera to create and direct their new production. Lola Vera is an Argentine dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher. She studied at Arte XXI and the National University of Arts (UNA) in Buenos Aires, where she joined the UNA dance company. In 2018, she moved to Europe for further training and exploration of movement. In Belgium, she collaborates with Paola Madrid at SORTA, working on artistic and pedagogic projects, and is a founding member of the Brussels-based Latin American artists’ collective, Les Sudakas.
Her work intersects languages and integrates images and writing, with a focus on the social aspects of dance and the democratization of movement. She choreographs audiovisual projects in Argentina, Belgium, and Spain and is directing her first physical theater piece, “Yo soy una fiesta,” with La Resistencia Teatre.
